Mahatma Gandhi University (MGU), Kerala has released the official notification for MGU Assistant Professor Recruitment 2026, inviting online applications for 9 Assistant Professor posts across various schools and academic departments. The recruitment will be conducted through direct selection based on academic merit and personal interview, strictly in accordance with UGC Regulations 2018. To be eligible, candidates must possess a Master’s degree with at least 55% marks in the relevant subject and should have qualified UGC/CSIR NET or SLET/SET. Applicants must also hold a Ph.D. degree in accordance with UGC Regulations 2009/2016, or a Ph.D. from a foreign university ranked among the top 500 globally. Subject-specific qualifications apply for different departments. For Education and Pedagogical Sciences, qualifications must meet UGC Regulations 2018 standards. Management and Business Studies applicants should have a degree in Education, MBA, PGDBA, or PGDMA, with preference given to candidates specializing in Operations Management or Business Analytics. Chemistry and Chemical Sciences candidates must hold a Master’s degree in Chemistry, and specialization in Theoretical Chemistry is desirable. For Social Sciences, candidates should have a background in History or Sociology, while for Letters, a Master’s degree in English is required.
The selection process includes shortlisting based on academic performance followed by a personal interview. There will be no written examination. The entire recruitment procedure will be conducted as per UGC guidelines. The application fee is ₹2000 for General and OBC candidates and ₹1000 for SC and ST candidates. The fee must be paid online during the application process.
